Lay summary – Balance problems are very common after traumatic brain injury and can affect recovery, return to work and long-term health. This study looked at how problems with the inner-ear balance system and related brain networks change over time in hospitalised TBI patients. The aim was to understand whether recovery of balance and awareness of self-motion are linked, and whether they depend on the same brain pathways.
