Lay summary – Some people continue to have balance problems and falls after a traumatic brain injury, and these difficulties may affect long-term health and survival. However, we do not yet fully understand how TBI affects the parts of the brain that control balance. This review looked at existing research to better understand what is currently known about the brain mechanisms behind balance problems after TBI.
